The serious version: Ashley Petry is an Indianapolis-based freelance journalist specializing in travel, food and drink, and the arts. Her work has appeared in USA Today, Conde Nast Traveler, Midwest Living, Indianapolis Monthly, AAA Home & Away and many other publications, and she writes a weekly travel feature for the Indianapolis Star. She provides copyediting services to multiple publishers, including Wiley (the “For Dummies” series), Pressgang and Author Solutions. She’s also the staff copy editor for Booth, a literary journal based at Butler University, where she earned an MFA in creative writing. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and English from Indiana University and an MBA with marketing specialization from Butler.
